about

"I knew from the onset of this project that it needed to end with Smile. I had been ending many of my shows with the Charlie Chaplin classic for years, and it has become an important part of my conscious decision to confront the world with realist positivity. But, the truth is that I was overcome with great sadness as I started recording this album. I was already grieving the death of my grandmother when we lost Rob Yancy, the only child of Natalie Cole. He died before I started recording Centennial Cole."
-Orice Jenkins

lyrics

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see that sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
And hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll see that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

Light up your face with gladness
And hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is worthwhile
If you just smile

If you just smile
Everything's gonna be alright if you just smile
Everything's gonna be alright
Don't you know you got to smile
